difference between unlock vs activate 

jailbreaking allows you to install custom apps
activating allows you to use any o2 sim
unlocking allows you to use any sim what so ever
this is true with older firmwares, as i said, activating and jailbreaking my own didnt work, so i unlocked as well.


Unlocking means that you can put any SIM in you like.

However, activating means that the Phone thinks that the SIM has been activated with iTunes
